Hi There! My name is Meg and my life motto is Will Work for Vacation – seriously! I have a sign in my office that reminds me of just that every day. I’m a born and raised Texas girl who was bitten by the travel bug at a very young age, so young in fact, I took my first international flight while I was still in diapers. Since then, I’ve traveled to 3 continents, more than 30 countries/territories, 37 out of 50 states – and counting!
Traveling is what inspires me, makes life interesting and brings me joy. I love seeing new places and experiencing new cultures and if I get to try local foods, I’m all for that too. My love of travel came from my parents. While most kids went to summer camp, I was jet setting to dozens of countries. My parents exposed me to many places and cultures during my childhood and dragged me to just about every museum on earth. Thanks, Dad!
They wanted me to see iconic places like the beaches of Normandy, Big Ben, the Ann Frank House, the leaning tower of Pisa and the Costa Del Sol and to have an appreciation for world travel. I’ve truly been blessed to see so much of the world and forever grateful for their investment in my life experiences.
Now some 30 years later, I’m married to an amazing man who supports all of my dreams, especially those of the travel variety. My husband, Chris, took his first international trip when we were dating and he’s been hooked on travel since. From our honeymoon in Curacao to our many cruises and trips to the Caribbean, we love to travel just about anywhere and everywhere as often as we can. When we’re not traveling abroad, we’re busy checking out domestic destinations and taking road trips with our pup. I’ll take travel just about any way I can get it.
I eat, sleep and dream of that next vacation and I am constantly planning something somewhere to the point where it drives Chris crazy. Our current travel destination list includes: Germany ( I visited as a kid but we are currently planning a trip together since it’s on Chris’ bucket list) and Greece. I would also like to re-visit London, Amsterdam, Italy and France, which I visited as a kid and now want to visit with my better half.
So now you know a little about my travel history but I bet you’re still wondering where the pink suitcase and namesake of this blog comes from. For starters, pink is my favorite color (it was even in my wedding color scheme) and after years of travel, I was always “losing” my boring black suitcase on the luggage carousel because it just didn’t stand out. I got my first set of pink suitcases some years ago and I haven’t looked back. The pink suitcases that I travel with standout from the crowd and are vibrant and unique just like me.
Here on my site, you will find information about my favorite destinations, cruising tips, general travel advice and more. I hope you will gain valuable travel knowledge and enjoy reading about our travel adventures.
